Colorado Access Supports Local Nonprofit Organizations Through Donations
AURORA, Colo – Colorado Access, a local nonprofit health care company, donated materials and supplies to local area nonprofit organizations, furthering the company’s mission to partner with communities and empower people through access to quality, affordable care.
“We live and work in the community, just like our members and providers, so it is important to also support other organizations that align with our mission,” says Kelly Marshall, director, community & external relations at Colorado Access. “Good health is achieved by holistically addressing individuals’ needs and we hope our donations can help address some of the barriers to wellness experienced by our members and the community.”
To date in 2019, Colorado Access has donated 68 used computers to Families Forward Resources Center and PCs for People. Homelessness continues to be part of community engagement efforts, and one hundred meal tokens were purchased from SAME (So All May Eat) Café and given to members to share with those who are experiencing homelessness so that they can get a healthy meal at no cost.
Sports gear donations were sent to Arapahoe County HOPE. Arapahoe County HOPE directly benefits foster children and those with TANF. Nearly 500 hygiene kits, including personal items such as lip gloss, first aid kits, and pens, were donated to HAAT Force, which works with those who are experiencing homeless in the nearby city of Englewood. Doctors Care used playing cards, pens, comic books, and coloring books to directly impact more than 1,000 families through back to school events. The new Delores Project shelter units opened with donated blankets, lip gloss, umbrellas and other household items for the 35 tenants moving from homelessness into a fully furnished one bedroom apartment to call their own.
Colorado Access partners with more than 40 organizations throughout the Denver metropolitan area. Community partners range from health service providers to community organizations. Support includes event sponsorship, initiative collaboration and meeting participation.
