Colorado Access Earns Full URAC Health Plan Accreditation
Denver, CO – Colorado Access announced today that it has been awarded full Health Plan accreditation from URAC, a Washington DC-based health care accrediting organization that establishes quality standards for the health care industry. The Health Plan accreditation standards focus on provider network management, credentialing, member relations, utilization management, and quality management.

Founded in 1994, Colorado Access is a local, nonprofit health plan that serves more than 400,000 Coloradans. The company's members receive healthcare under Child Health Plan Plus (CHP+), Medicaid Behavioral and Physical Health programs, or Medicare Advantage. In 2011, Colorado Access was awarded three (3) of the seven (7) Regional Care Collaborative Organizations (RCCOs) under the State's Accountable Care Collaborative Medicaid program. Access Health Benefit Solutions provides Third Party Administrator services to employers offering customized employer-funded health insurance and wellness plans to their employees.
To achieve full URAC accreditation, Colorado Access was required to demonstrate services offered to members, establish goals, showcase performances related to access of care, availability of providers and provider selection criteria. The organization also demonstrated the use of their policies, procedures and organizational structure.
